Today I had time to drink a cup of coffee about 40 minutes before I was planning on running. Instead of running the 3 miles I had planned, I ran 4 miles because it felt good and I had the energy. Of course, I can’t be sure that the coffee (or caffeine in the coffee) was the reason. But it has been a long time since I’ve run more than needed 😉

That was my motivation for doing some research into the effects of caffeine on our workouts. Caffeine has always been proven to enhance endurance workouts. However, there may be more benefits to consuming caffeine pre-workout for all types of exercise, not just endurance sports.
